SuiteScript 2.1

As of version 2020.1 (released in early 2020) NetSuite has introduced SuiteScript 2.1 for server-side script types. This includes User Event, Scheduled Script and Suitelets. However, SuiteScript 2.1 is not yet supported for Client Scripts.

SuiteScript 2.1 Backwards Compatibility

SuiteScript 2.1 is backwards-compatible with SuiteScript 2.0 and is specified using the  @NApiVersion tag in the script header. To choose which SuiteScript version to use, simply refer to the below table on how to format the @NApiVersion tag:

• 2.0 = SuiteScript 2.0
• 2.1 = SuiteScript 2.1
• 2.x = SuiteScript 2.1

Alternatively, you can also enable this as an account-wide setting at:
Go to Setup > Company > Preferences > General Preferences

Simply choose a value in the RUN SUITESCRIPT 2.X SERVER SCRIPTS AS field.
This account-wide setting will be available until version 2021.1.
